A guided walk during which we will use a mindful approach to connect our breath to the movement of our steps and simple yoga movements.
The repetitive movement of walking helps us quiet our minds in a similar way as a yoga practice does. Stressful thoughts, worries and negativity will softly fade away, by simply focusing the mind and being present in the moment outside in the fresh air. Combining with yoga poses, we will begin to build strength, improve stability and increase flexibility.
We will walk around the peaceful Waterstown Park, a park along the River Liffey in Palmerston, featuring lush vegetation, rolling hills & walking trails. I discovered this wonderful place during lockdown.
We find small quiet places to stop. We will walk and stretch, balance and sit still to observe details in nature. Using our different senses we will make notes in word, lines and colour; taking a deeper look at the surroundings, beyond the obvious. Expect a two hour walk, gentle yoga movement, sensory observations and meditation.
Bring a yoga mat, a notebook and pencil, flask with a warm drink and small picnic.
Max 10 participants
We meet by the entrance to the park: Waterstone Avenue, Palmerstown Lower, Dublin 20.
